Code of Conduct
IndigiPopX is a celebration of Indigenous pop culture, storytelling, art, and community. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone.
By attending IndigiPopX, you agree to respect others, follow this Code of Conduct, and comply with all applicable laws and local ordinances.
This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, artists, exhibitors, vendors, volunteers, guests, staff, and partners.
General Expectations
- Treat all people with respect, kindness, and consideration.
- Be mindful of your language and actions — harassment, hate speech, and discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Respect personal boundaries and always ask before touching, photographing, or recording others.
- Follow all venue rules and the instructions of IndigiPopX staff and volunteers.
- Keep common areas clean and accessible for all attendees.
Anti-Harassment Policy
- IndigiPopX has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: verbal abuse, physical intimidation, unwanted physical contact, stalking, or sustained disruption of events.
- Harassment based on race, ethnicity, tribal affiliation, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.
- Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual attention, inappropriate touching, or sexually explicit language directed at others, will result in immediate removal from the event.
- If you are being harassed or witness harassment, please report it immediately to any IndigiPopX staff member or volunteer.
Cultural Respect
- IndigiPopX centers Indigenous peoples, cultures, and stories. All attendees are expected to approach Indigenous cultures with respect and humility.
- Do not wear or display sacred regalia, ceremonial items, or culturally significant symbols as costumes or fashion accessories.
- Appropriative cosplay — including war paint, headdresses, or stereotypical "Native" costumes — is not permitted and will result in removal from the event.
- Listen to and amplify Indigenous voices. This is their space first.
- Photography of Indigenous ceremonies, sacred items, or culturally sensitive content requires explicit permission.
Cosplay & Prop Weapons
- All cosplay props and costume weapons must comply with venue and local regulations.
- No real weapons of any kind are permitted, including firearms (even with a valid carry permit), live steel blades, or functional projectile weapons.
- Prop weapons must be peace-bonded and inspected by IndigiPopX staff upon entry.
- Cosplay is not consent — wearing a costume does not invite unwanted touching, photography, or comments.
- Costumes must comply with the venue's family-friendly standards. Staff reserve the right to ask attendees to modify or cover costumes.
Photography & Recording
- Always ask for permission before photographing or recording other attendees, artists, or guests.
- Respect a "no photo" request immediately and without argument.
- Do not post photos or videos of others without their consent, especially minors.
- Professional photography and media coverage requires prior accreditation from IndigiPopX organizers.
- Recording of panels and programming may be restricted — follow posted signage and staff instructions.
Minors & Family Policy
- Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times unless otherwise specified for designated youth programming.
- Adults are responsible for the behavior of minors in their care.
- Any adult engaging in inappropriate behavior toward a minor will be immediately removed and reported to law enforcement.
- Lost child protocols are in place — please report any unaccompanied minor to staff immediately.
Accessibility & Inclusion
- IndigiPopX is committed to making our event accessible to all attendees, including those with disabilities.
- Do not block accessible pathways, seating areas, or entrances.
- Service animals are welcome. Please do not pet or distract service animals without the handler's permission.

- IndigiQueer Night and 2S programming are affirming spaces — all gender identities and expressions are welcome and celebrated.
Enforcement & Reporting
- Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, removal from the event without refund, or being banned from future IndigiPopX events.
- Serious violations, including physical assault or threats, will be reported to law enforcement.
- To report a violation, speak to any IndigiPopX staff member or volunteer, or email [email protected].
- All reports will be handled with discretion and taken seriously. Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation is itself a violation of this Code of Conduct.
- IndigiPopX organizers have the final say in all Code of Conduct matters.
